We honoured 3 women who have made an impact within their local communities in Edo State in Nigeria during the launch of the project in November 2009. These are their profiles. |
Miss Patience Aghimile Igbiti hails from Etsako Central Local Government Area of Edo State. She was born on 2nd February, 1977.
She is the first female Power lifter in West Africa and the first Female Power lifter to represent African in International Competition in London.
She is a world champion and a Head Coach for Power lifting. She won the overall power lifting in kada games in 2009, with Six Gold Medals. |

| Evangelist Ebokhaisomi Bello is the Proprietor, Christ Family Orphanage Home, Agenebode in Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State. The orphanage home caters for children who are physically/mentally challenged. She recently opened a school for the physically challenged, along side the orphanage home, to help educate the children in her home as well as for the general public to bring in their physically challenged children for proper education, since they are in the rural area and can not easily access schools far away. |

Rita Aizehi Aimiuwu Oguntoyimbo |
| Mrs. Rita Aizehi Aimiuwu Oguntoyimbo was born on 16th January,1956. She is from Benin City, in Edo South. She holds a Higher National Diploma from the Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State. She joined the World Health Organisation (WHO) as Personal Assistant to the WHO Representative and the Officer in charge of Travels in 1984. She is presently the Head, Travel and Protocol Unit at the Head Quarters of the World Health Organisation in Nigeria. |
