Margaret Konima-Sesay is an international advocate, adviser, trainer and researcher on Civil Society issues pertaining to Refugees, Women’s Human Rights, Gender Based Violence, Harmful Traditional Practices including Female Genital Mutilation (F.G.M.) Socio-economic Empowerment, Development and Advancement of Women.
She is the founder and director of Global Women a health, research and development organisation that works in partnership with national and international organisations to address issues pertaining to Gender Based Violence, women’s health, empowerment and development of women. In 2004 she launched the “STARS AWARDS” that acknowledges, recognises and celebrates the contributions and achievements of women who have helped to make a difference to the lives of others in their different communities. This inspirational event has been a platform of positive change for many communities, groups and organisations that she works with.
